Don Borman

Don Borman was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Northeast High School in 1966.  He worked for the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for a short period before joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, Don served as a boilerman on a WWII class destroyer in Yokosuka, Japan and spent several years off the coast of Vietnam. After the Navy, Don returned to Lincoln and worked at Bryan Memorial Hospital as a power plant operator.  Don later moved to Des Moines to work in his brother’s print shop as a commercial artist.  He has worked for the State of Iowa as a power plan operator/maintenance engineer for eleven years and for Farmland Insurance/Nationwide Insurance as a Maintenance Supervisor for 30 years. After retiring, Don started a handyman service and became the Grounds Engineer for Gremler Financial Group.

Don earned the designations of Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) and has a 1st Class Stationary Engineer’s License with the City of Des Moines. He is also the financial secretary at his church and the president of his townhome association.

Don is married to Lois and has two children and two grandchildren. Don’s hobbies include drawing, antique cars and model car building.
